pg 100 plot summary

By page 100, Ender has arrived on Lusitania to speak the deaths he has been called to. He is beginning to learn more about the "piggies," and also about Novinha, the woman who summoned him. There are some key conflicts being highlighted in this part of the book, including the internal conflicts of Novinha and her family, the scientists and the government, and Ender and the Catholic church.

Novinha has recently experienced two deaths, one of her close friend and father figure, Pipo, and his son Libo, her secret lover(ill explain that later). Not only are these loses devastating to her, she blames herself for both of them.

The scientists, called xenologers, are attempting to perform a thorough study of the "Piggies," but for fear of another xenocide, the government has restricted access to the point where it is very difficult to learn anything. this angers the xenologers, and leads some to break the rules.

Ever since his arrival on Lusitania, Ender has found it extremely difficult to do anything without the interference of the colony's bishop. He has told everyone that Ender is a worker for the devil, and he cannot be trusted. this is making it rather hard to accomplish his mission, but Ender still presses on.

  2. Yes, although it doesnt really follow ender as closely as the other books did, and he really seems like a different character.
